I have completely finished wrapping presents. I had a dream last night that I forgot something and had to go back. At least I hope it was a dream, it seemed very real, I just can't remember now what it was that I forgot. Mom called and changed Nikky's flight from arriving on Friday at noon to tomorrow night at 10:00. We'll see how that goes.
I really don't have time to go back for anything if I don't think of it soon.

No Break
At least not a planned one. I'm just boring and lazy. I have nothing to write about and am too lazy to write about the boring things. And since I'm home for Christmas break I don't have a place to set my computer and just leave it on, so it's not on so much. But being home is nice. I finished ALL my christmas shopping today. Unless there is something that I forgot, and it kinda feels like there is.
I talked to Lori today and she found a house to rent that she likes a lot better than the other one she was going to rent, and it is available now, so she went and bought a bunch of furniture and is moving in. I'm going to go check it out tomorrow. This is good because if I do find a house to rent for the next school year I will need furniture, so she can give me advice. A friend from school sent me an e-mail about a house available in January, but I have a lease, so I will wait. Maybe it will still be open when I need it, I doubt it but it's good to know people are looking out. And if anyone has a house in Jacksonville they are looking to rent in a few months on the cheap, I'll be there.

We finally got our tree up yesterday. And now there are tons of presents under it, and the lights make it look really festive.

I colored my hair the other day because the red tinge was starting to get to me. I picked a color that looked like my natural color, but it turned out pretty much black, so I'm getting used to it, and hoping it too will fade.

No Cavities

Living in Florida during the holidays is always interesting and nothing at all like the Christmas specials they play over and over. Last week when I was home we put up Christmas lights. I should say, I just stood on the ground and told Nikky not to fall off the roof. It's always interesting coordinating it and making sure all the strings are going in the right direction so that they all plug in. We have a string going up the bird feeder pole, and a couple lighted sign thing-ys. So we also have extension cords strung over the front yard. But they're green. My mom likes to point out that we have more extension cords than most of the manly-men of the world. Last year after we put up the lights she was talking to her new employee from Minnesota or Michigan (or one of those M states up there), he laughed so hard when she told him she wasn't sure what she would do when the lawn mower man came to do the lawn. According to him "you just don't mow around Christmas decorations."

So at one point we found a string of icicle lights that had 1 light out. So I set about replacing it. Of course I thought this would fix the problem so I put the string down and plugged it in only to find that now half the sting didn't work anymore and couldn't find the bad bulb. Opps. So I'm sitting on the lawn going through the entire strand changing one bulb at a time when I hear the unmistakable tinkles of "The Entertainer" playing.
"I hear the ice cream truck!"

The end has arrived
No, I'm not talking about the world. I'm talking about the semester. I took my last exam of the semester today. Let's all pray I get a 70.

In case you were wondering (and really because I don't want you to forget), I am still updating my Christmas list, so keep checking it. I haven't had much time to Christmas shop in person this year, but I've been doing lots online, which means I keep finding tons of stuff that I want for myself.

I think I have an idea about what I'm going to get Nikky, but I can't tell you because she knows this blog exists and mentioned wanting to see it, so just in case she remembers it again I have to leave you in suspense. It's not that cool anyway.

I have no idea about my mom. She isn't exactly helpful either.

Also, for the extended family this year I drew my cousin and her husband. I have to get them a gift, AND not spend more than $10.00, while this is great for my bank account, I have NO idea what get. Does anything even cost less than $10.00 anymore?

So...to continue with my gift theme, which I'm not really sure I will be able to continue much longer, I will tell you about what I got for my birthday. Since I know you want to know.
bEEEEautiful emerald stud earrings.
Some four leaf clover earrings from my sister (to match the charm on my necklace that my mom made me last year)
The cutest little glass turtle
A gingerbreak house kit (because I wanted to make one but this show I watched made it look too hard for normal people)
I think I made out pretty well.
I haven't worn the clovers yet though because I am still waiting for my new hole to heal and I think I'm going to have one of them repierced this week because it is uneven and I want a third hole and so I want my second hole on the left side to be lower than it is now. But they feel healed so I wanted to change them to my diamonds BUT mom said I should wait because it might hurt, and I don't like hurting, and I'm going to have it repierced anyway so I won't be able to wear the diamonds for a while anyway.
And...Jenn sent me a really cute birthday card. It has two old ladies on the front. And she sent me pictures of her and her man (who I haven't met yet).

Nikky has changed a bunch of stuff on her list. So this is what she wants.
A soccer ball charm (but not a full circle)

Earrings
Ring
All jewelry should now be yellow gold.
Digital Camera
Paintball gun
Shoes

Soccer cleats, which she didn't know she wanted until I said, "hey, do you like these"

Adidas perfume
Diskman

And that's all she can come up with. I guess I'll have to think of something on my own.

In honor of my birthday and well, Christmas I'm posting a list of things I want. Mainly because I forgot to post a list of things I'm thankful for for thanksgiving. Maybe I'll get to that next year. Or for the New Year perhaps.

I want one of these:

But I'd take a pistachio one.

I also really like these, but they are more expensive than I really like to pay for my dress shoes.
Camel, size 8.5

And now for the things I'm more likely to get:
I want these shoes:
Whiskey size 8.5

I want those emerald earrings. I got them and they are GORGEOUS!!! You would be jealous if you saw them.

And maybe some baby diamond studs.

I want a pedicure. Well a gift certificate for one anyway.

Money is always good, because I need clothes, and I want to read a ton of books that have nothing to do with school over break. And clothes.

A Jump Drive

With at least 256 MB, but I think 512 MB might be better.

One of these

And I gotta have one of these:

And a leather jacket:

One of these shirts:

You really have to go and click the view larger images button to see what it says, it's good.

It occurs to me that I forgot to blog about the Homosassa Arts and Crafts, Seafood Festival. I didn't buy in arts or crafts, but I looked at bunches. Mom got some potpourri. We did however eat lots o' food. I love the Festival. The food is always EXPENSIVE, but it's good. I always try to go. It's not so easy to do with school and all, but this year I just happened to be home that weekend. It was fate. I had crawfish. Which is a semi-usual pick for me. When else do you get to eat them? I also had seafood fritters from a place that my mom and I frequent. They were excellent. Last weekend we went, but they aren't going to add the fritters to their menu. Crazy! There is always a huge crush of people at the festival, especially in the food area, and finding a table is a little bit like being a starving shark waiting for a boat to wreck. Anyway, I got my crawfish first. And then I stood next to my mom in her line while people were squeezing past us. Some lady who was from somewhere out of town squished by us while remarking that she would love to try a crawfish, but wouldn't try something else (I can't remember what it was but I remember thinking it was odd that she was afraid to eat something most people would think nothing of but would eat a crawfish). So I offered her one. She thanked me and we had a mini-convo about how to eat it. Then I had to tell the man behind her that no, I wasn't handing out samples. So we finally got our food and got a table and sat down. Brian was all trying to be cool like he had had crawfish before and liked them, but I saw the his face when he tried one I offered. Wimp. Nikky liked them too. Which I was surprised about. She doesn't like shrimp but she picked the ity bits of meat out of the claws. Of course this was after I was done, but then we found one I missed and brain got it out for her, and she ate it. She said she didn't like it, but it tasted the same as the claws, it was probably all in her head. And as I mentioned before, the fritters were fabulous, I hope they decide to start serving them in the restaurant.

I watched a TON of lectures today. And I have 14 to watch tomorrow. Well, probably 15 if I want to finish up this week's lectures that I was watching today. So, pray for my high speed internet. I'm going to need it. It's not so bad really once I get myself to actually turn them on, and IF I can keep myself from getting distracted. And everytime one ends and it's time to start a new one is a power struggle within myself. But if you forget about all that, it isn't so bad.

I have a case minus 6 bottles of water in my trunk and only half a bottle in the fridge. I should have brought it up tonight, but I forgot so I'll have to suffer through breakfast tomorrow until I'm up to walking downstairs and hauling it up. The outside noice hasn't been so bad recently. But that is probably because it has been during the week. I just hope all the usual pre/post partying doesn't happen this week because UNF is having Finals (I think), so it won't be so bad to study. I hope that doesn't mean that it will be bad next weekend, because I have a HUGE exam next monday that I HAVE to do well on. Next year I really want to rent a house or a town house in a nice quiet neighborhood. One where no one feels the need to turn up their stereo, and it's not almost impossible to get onto a major road during mildly high traffic. One where I don't have to carry EVERYTHING up 2 flights of stairs. I'm lazy, and I don't like to do it, especially when I know I'm just going to be carrying it back down in a few months. Hopefully I will find someone who is also looking for this kind of arrangement, who also happens to be reliable and we can split the rent. Otherwise, I'm not going to be able to swing it. I'm keeping my ears open and I know a few people have heard me say it, so we'll see what happens, I guess we have a while until I really need to worry about it anyway. I do need to start thinking about furniture though. I need a bed and a desk and a dresser at least. And I may need to look around for some livingroom furniture. I saw an add for a townhome in the area I'm living in now. 2bd/2ba. That sounds good to me. I don't understand why more people don't build houses with the same number of bedrooms and bathrooms. And what are people thinking about when they build 4bd/2ba homes? Anyway, that townhouse was a really good price and the area around here is nice. So it sounds promising. And I've seen a lot of adds for nice houses. But a 3bd/2ba leaves the question of who gets the master? And should they pay more because of this? They should, I think because they get the bigger room and a private bath. But how much more? And who mows the lawn? So many questions. But I think this is a really good idea because sharing a house is cheaper than a 1bd apartment.
We had a talk from a Winn-Dixie recruiter. We all knew he was talking up WD because we've all been into a WD and they can be pretty scary. But it was interesting to hear what they had to say. Of course he was all like, I'm not going to talk about the numbers here, I'm going to talk about quality of life. And I was all like, Come on, I'm not dying here, SHOW ME THE MONEY!
Anyway $45/hr straight out of school was what he said.
45x40=$1800/wk. And 1800 x 50 (work weeks)= $90,000. Which aint bad at all. And they were eager to point out that the salary just keeps going up. So YEA! AND...I hear that they recruit more heavily in the smaller communities, so that means bigger sign on bonus for me! And word of mouth tells me that whoever they just hired in chiefland got to negotiate a pretty good sign on bonus.
But we all know that WD isn't doing so well, so it might not be such a good idea to work there. But who knows? Maybe things will have changed after I get out of school. If even a little of what they said about themselves was true it wouldn't be such a bad place to work except for all the crazies that seems to frequent the store where I live.
I'm just all stuck on the money. I'm already designing my house.
I wonder how shallow all this makes me?
